National Matchplays Wild Cards

In view of the big number of applications for a wild card into the National Match-plays, the Committee has decided that there is need for clarification and consequently has issued the following guidelines:
- Players must be ranked TOP 8 in the National Ranking on Wednesday 26th October
- The maximum number of wild cards that will be granted is two. In the event that the number of spaces allocated to Leinster in the provincial match-plays in any given age group is 5 or less the maximum number will be 1.
- Applicants must fulfil one of the following parameters:
- On Tuesday 15th November the player is in the main draw or qualifying draw sections on the acceptance list of an ITF or Tennis Europe tournament due to start on the weekend of the 19th November
- On Wednesday 16th November at 9:00PM the player is in the singles or doubles main draw of an ITF or Tennis Europe tournament
- The player has an injury at the time of the provincial match-plays and provides a letter signed by a doctor, physical trainer or physiotherapist stating that he/she is expected to be fit to play up to 2 matches, with a total of up to 5 matches over the period from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th December.
- Wild cards will be allocated not later than Thursday 17th November 11:00AM
