There was an entry of 180 players from all over Ireland. It was a very exciting weekend with many great tennis matches. It was a wonderful and successful tournament for the first time it was held outside the capital.

The Tournament was organized and run by the Munster Branch Tennis Ireland and Saint Anne’s Tennis Club.

To mark the occasion the Munster Branch and Tennis Ireland made a presentation to Mr. Gerry Clarke for all his dedication , and his work for Veterans Tennis over the past 60 years and for his organization of the Irish Veterans Close Championships for the last 32 years.
